LORDS SUPPER (PASS OVER)
By Petro Tumaini

The Passover (Currently known as Easter) celebrated by the majority of Christians in our generation does not reflect what Jesus instituted regarding it, actually even the name Easter is not rooted from the Bible I invite you to read this article so that you can discover the following.
Ø     What is the meaning of pass-over and a new name assignet to it in the Bible?
Ø     How Jesus celebrated the Passover?
Ø     What is the purpose of pasover?
Ø     How ought we to celebrate the pass over according to instructions of Jesus?
Ø     The wrong teaching emited by satan concerning Lord’s Supper(Passover)?

Now his parents went to Jerusalem every year at the feast of the Passover. And when he was twelve years old, they went up to Jerusalem after the custom of the feast. Luke 2:41, 42
Its origin
While the institution of the Passover was pointing backward to the miraculous deliverance of the Hebrews, it likewise pointed forward, showing the death of the Son of God before it transpired. In the last Passover our Lord observed with His disciples, He instituted the Lord's Supper in place of the Passover, to be observed in memory of His death. No longer had they need of the Passover, for He, the great antitypical Lamb, was ready to be sacrificed for the sins of the world. Type met antitype in the death of Christ

HOW JESUS CELEBRATED PASSOVER(LORD’S SUPPER)
In the upper chamber of a dwelling at Jerusalem, Christ was sitting at table with His disciples. They had gathered to celebrate the Passover. The Saviour desired to keep this feast alone with the twelve. He knew that His hour was come; He Himself was the true paschal lamb, and on the day the Passover was eaten He was to be sacrificed. He was about to drink the cup of wrath; He must soon receive the final baptism of suffering. But a few quiet hours yet remained to Him, and these were to be spent for the benefit of His beloved disciples.  {DA 642.1}

John 13:3-15,         Jesus knowing that the Father had given all things into his hands, and that he was come from God, and went to God; He riseth from supper, and laid aside his garments; and took a towel, and girded himself.After that he poureth water into a basin, and began to wash the disciples' feet, and to wipe [them] with the towel wherewith he was girded... Ye call me Master and Lord: and ye say well; for [so] I am. If I then, [your] Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another's feet.  For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you.

Matthew 26:226-29" And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed [it], and brake [it], and gave [it] to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body.  he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it; for this is my blood of the new testament, For this is my blood of the new testament which is shed for many for the remission of sins. But I say unto you, I will not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in my father's kingdom.".

The same manner of Celebration shown by Jesus in lords supper is the sama manner he ordered all Christians to celebrate till he comes, it doesn’t matter how most Christians celebrate the Passover( as it is called Easter) in this generation.
The manner is
1)     Washing each others feet. Symbolizes  humbleness)
2)     Wiping feet.
3)     Drinking unfermented grape juice/ wine (Vine).Symbolizes The saving blood of Christ.
4)     Eating unleavened bread.-Leaven represents sin (Luke 12:1-… Beware ye of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.   now the Jesus had no sin  1 Corinthians 5:8          Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened [bread] of sincerity and truth.  That’s why even the bread which represents his body is unleavened (Represents body of Christ who did not commit sin).

The broken bread and pure juice of the grape are to represent the broken body and spilled blood of the Son of God. Bread that is leavened must not come on the communion table; unleavened bread is the only correct representation of the Lord's Supper. Nothing fermented is to be used. Only the pure fruit of the vine and the unleavened bread are to be used (RH June 7, 1898).  {6BC 1090.7}
Important Lessons from Lords Supper inaugurated by jesus.

Another cause of dissension had arisen. At a feast it was customary for a servant to wash the feet of the guests, and on this occasion preparation had been made for the service. The pitcher, the basin, and the towel were there, in readiness for the feet washing; but no servant was present, and it was the disciples' part to perform it. But each of the disciples, yielding to wounded pride, determined not to act the part of a servant. All manifested a stoical unconcern, seeming unconscious that there was anything for them to do. By their silence they refused to humble themselves.  {DA 644.2}

When you refuse to attend Lord’s supper you refuse to acquire higher cleansing.
Solemnly Christ said to Peter, "If I wash thee not, thou hast no part with Me." The service which Peter refused was the type of a higher cleansing. Christ had come to wash the heart from the stain of sin. In refusing to allow Christ to wash his feet, Peter was refusing the higher cleansing included in the lower. He was really rejecting his Lord. It is not humiliating to the Master to allow Him to work for our purification. The truest humility is to receive with thankful heart any provision made in our behalf, and with earnestness do service for Christ
The Help given to students is also focus for us today.
Until brought into a state of humility and love, they were not prepared to partake of the paschal supper, or to share in the memorial service which Christ was about to institute. Their hearts must be cleansed. Pride and self-seeking create dissension and hatred, but all this Jesus washed away in washing their feet. A change of feeling was brought about. Looking upon them, Jesus could say, "Ye are clean." Now there was union of heart, love for one another. They had become humble and teachable. Except Judas, each was ready to concede to another the highest place. Now with subdued and grateful hearts they could receive Christ's words.  {DA 646.3}.
Christ has given a perfect exemplification of the unselfish ministry which has its origin in God. God does not live for Himself. By creating the world, and by upholding all things, He is constantly ministering for others. "He maketh His sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust." Matthew 5:45. This ideal of ministry God has committed to His Son. Jesus was given to stand at the head of humanity, that by His example He might teach what it means to minister. His whole life was under a law of service. He served all, ministered to all. Thus He lived the law of God, and by His example showed how we are to obey it.  {DA 649.4}

This ordinance is Christ's appointed preparation for the sacramental service. While pride, variance, and strife for supremacy are cherished, the heart cannot enter into fellowship with Christ. We are not prepared to receive the communion of His body and His blood. Therefore it was that Jesus appointed the memorial of His humiliation to be first observed.  {DA 650.3}
To those who receive the spirit of this service, it can never become a mere ceremonial. Its constant lesson will be, "By love serve one another."
          Galatians 5:13.For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only [use] not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.

THE PURPOSE OF LORD’S SUPPER
IT REMINDS US THE DEATH OF CHRIST FOR OUR SALVATION
For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come. 1 Corinthians 11:26.
.
It is a vague idea as claimed by many Christians that they worship on Sunday to commemorate the rise of Jesus Christ from Dead, the only celebration and act which commemorates the death and resurrection of Jesus is (Lord’s Supper/Passover and Baptism Read Mathew 6:1-10.)

The salvation of men depends upon a continual application to their hearts of the cleansing blood of Christ. Therefore, the Lord's Supper was not to be observed only occasionally or yearly, but more frequently than the annual Passover. This solemn ordinance commemorates a far greater event than the deliverance of the children of Israel from Egypt. That deliverance was typical of the great atonement which Christ made by the sacrifice of His own life for the final deliverance of His people.  {FLB 302.2}

The symbols of the Lord's house are simple and plainly understood, and the truths represented by them are of the deepest significance to us. In instituting the sacramental service to take the place of the Passover, Christ left for His church a memorial of His great  sacrifice for man. "This do," He said, "in remembrance of Me." This was the point of transition between two economies and their two great festivals. {Ev 273.3}

IT ALSO ORDAINED FOR RECONCILIATION OF  CHURCH MEMBERS
Reconciliation one with another is the work for which the ordinance of feet washing was instituted. By the example of our Lord and Master, this humiliating ceremony has been made a sacred ordinance. Whenever it is celebrated, Christ is present by His Holy Spirit. It is this Spirit that brings conviction to hearts.  {Ev 275.1}
DURATION OF CELEBRATING LORD’S SUPPER.
The lord’s supper have to be celebrated every now and then and not annually as many celebrate the Passover, the act of mans salvation is to be engraved oftenly in his mind through Lord’s supper/
The salvation of men depends upon a continual application to their hearts of the cleansing blood of Christ. Therefore, the Lord's Supper was not to be observed only occasionally or yearly, but more frequently than the annual passover. (3SG 228).  {6BC 1090.9}

GOD WANTS EVERY BAPTIZED CHRISTIAN TO ATTEND/CELEBRATE LORD’S SUPPER

Concerning the lords supper god requires that every human being who wants to be cleansed with the savior’s blood to attend publicly, the denial of lord’s supper is the like the denial of Jesus Christ.

This ordinance is not to be exclusive, as many would make it. Each must participate in it publicly, and thus bear witness: I accept Christ as my personal Saviour. He gave His life for me, that I might be rescued from death.  {FLB 302.3}

None should exclude themselves from the Communion because some who are unworthy may be present. Every disciple is called upon to participate publicly, and thus bear witness that he accepts Christ as a personal Saviour. It is at these, His own appointments, that Christ meets His people, and energizes them by His presence. Hearts and hands that are unworthy may even administer the ordinance, yet Christ is there to minister to His children. All who come with their faith fixed upon Him will be greatly blessed. All who neglect these seasons of divine privilege will suffer loss. Of them it may appropriately be said, "Ye are not all clean."  {DA 656.4}

PREPARATION FO LORD’S SUPPER
The preparatory service has embraced all this. The self-examination, the confession of sin, the reconciling of differences, has all been done. Now they come to meet with Christ. They are not to stand in the shadow of the cross, but in its saving light. They are to open the soul to the bright beams of the Sun of Righteousness. With hearts cleansed by Christ's most precious blood, in full consciousness of His presence, although unseen, they are to hear His words, "Peace I leave with you, My peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you." John 14:27.  {DA 659.1}

IT WAS ORDAINED FOR ENTIRE HUMAN HISTORY

"The Lord Jesus the same night in which He was betrayed took bread: and when He had given thanks, He brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is My body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of Me. After the same manner also He took the cup, when He had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in My blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of Me. For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do show the Lord's death till He come." 1 Corinthians 11:23-26.

NO ONE HAVE TO BE FORBIDDEN
Christ by the Holy Spirit is there to set the seal to His own ordinance. He is there to convict and soften the heart. Not a look, not a thought of contrition, escapes His notice. For the repentant, brokenhearted one He is waiting. All things are ready for that soul's reception. He who washed the feet of Judas longs to wash every heart from the stain of sin.  {DA 656.3}

The communion service points to Christ's second coming. It was designed to keep this hope vivid in the minds of the disciples. Whenever they met together to commemorate His death, they recounted how "he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it; for this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins. But I say unto you, I will not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in my father's kingdom." Matthew 26:27-29. In their tribulation they found comfort in the hope of their Lord's return. Unspeakably precious to them was the thought, "As often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come." . . .  {FLB 302.4}

Christ rested in the tomb on the Sabbath day, and when holy beings of both heaven and earth were astir on the morning of the first day of the week, He rose from the grave to renew His work of teaching His disciples. But this fact does not consecrate the first day of the week, and make it a Sabbath. Jesus, prior to His death, established a memorial of the breaking of His body and the spilling of His blood for the sins of the world, in the ordinance of the Lord's Supper, saying, "For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come." 1 Corinthians 11:26. {FLB 303.2}

THE FALSE TEACHING FROM SATAN CONCERNING THE LORD ’S SUPPER

There is a false teaching especially in some Christian churches that the wine used in Lords supper and the  unleavened bread represents the actual body and blood of Jesus. This is not the biblical teaching for the bible shows that Bread and blood  represents the body of Christ they can be simply Symbols. Even Jesus said it is a fruit of vine not his actual blood.

Remember the words of Jesus  "he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it; for this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins. But I say unto you, I will not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in my father's kingdom." Matthew 26:27-29.

The Scriptural ordinance of the Lord's supper had been supplanted by the idolatrous sacrifice of the mass. Papist priests pretended, by their senseless mummery, to convert the simple bread and wine into the actual body and blood of Christ. With blasphemous presumption they openly claimed the power to "create their Creator." {SR 334.1}
